Temperatures are set to edge upwards across inland areas of the Canary Islands today, Tuesday, while coastal locations will enjoy little change, according to the latest forecasts from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).
The forecast predicts a largely settled day, with moderate north-easterly winds and plenty of sunshine after early morning cloud clears across much of the archipelago.
Cloud is expected to affect the northern slopes of the mountainous islands, along with Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, during the early hours before giving way to clearer skies. Some afternoon cloud may develop over inland areas of Tenerife and the western islands, but dry conditions are expected throughout.
In the higher mountain areas, light south-westerly winds will prevail. However, Tenerife's highest peaks will experience strong winds with the possibility of very strong gusts.
At sea, east to north-easterly winds of Force 3 to 4 will create slight seas, becoming moderate later in the day. A north-westerly swell of between one and two metres is also expected.
