Much of the Canary Islands can look forward to another largely sunny day today, Thursday, with temperatures reaching 30°C in some inland areas and only limited cloud expected across the archipelago.
According to AEMET, skies will remain mostly clear across the islands, although some low cloud is expected during the early morning and evening in northern areas.
Warm and settled outlook
The weather pattern remains favourable for outdoor activities across much of the Canary Islands, with plenty of sunshine, warm temperatures and only limited cloud cover. However, residents and visitors should remain aware of strong winds in exposed areas and rougher sea conditions along Atlantic-facing coastlines.
Island-by-island forecast for Thursday 11th June 2026:
Tenerife
Northern Tenerife below 700 to 900 metres will experience intervals of cloud, particularly in north-eastern areas during the morning and evening.
Elsewhere, including the island’s main tourist resorts, conditions are expected to remain mostly sunny with only occasional cloud.
Moderate north-easterly winds will strengthen at times on the south-east coast and the far north-west of the island. In higher areas and around Mount Teide, winds will gradually turn westerly and could become strong later in the day.
General temperature range: Low of 20°C and high of 27°C.
Gran Canaria
Northern parts of Gran Canaria below 700 metres will see periods of cloud during the morning and evening, with brighter conditions expected during the middle of the day. The rest of the island will remain largely sunny and dry.
Trade winds will be moderate overall but may become strong at times on south-east and north-west slopes, especially during the early hours of the morning.
Temperatures will rise slightly, particularly across mid-altitude areas and higher ground. Inland parts of the east, south and west could once again reach 30°C.
General temperature range: Low of 19°C and high of 25°C.
Lanzarote
Cloudier conditions are expected in the north and west during the early morning and late evening, while the rest of the day should remain mostly sunny.
Southern and eastern parts of the island will enjoy clear skies throughout most of Thursday.
General temperature range: Low of 18°C and high of 27°C.
Fuerteventura
Fuerteventura will remain mostly sunny, although northern areas may experience some cloud during the first and last hours of the day. Temperatures will edge upwards, and inland areas in the south-east could locally reach 30°C during the afternoon.
Moderate trade winds will continue, becoming occasionally strong around the southern slopes of Jandía.
General temperature range: Low of 18°C and high of 26°C.
