An illegal rave attended by around 200 people has been raided and shut down in Gran Canaria, after police uncovered a large quantity of suspected drugs and found the event had been operating without the necessary licences or safety measures.
The operation was carried out jointly by the National Police and Telde Local Police following repeated complaints from nearby residents about unauthorised DJ events being held at a private finca in the Montaña Las Huesas area.
Police said they had also received reports raising concerns about the possible presence of underage attendees and the consumption of alcohol and drugs at an event advertised as 'Platatonic'.
Before officers entered the venue, the Telde Local Police's Drone Unit carried out aerial surveillance, confirming that a large crowd had gathered and that the event had been professionally organised. According to police, the site included controlled entry points, advance ticket sales and a range of facilities operating within the property.
Wide Range of Suspected Drugs Found
During the inspection, officers searched the venue, where approximately 200 people were present, and discovered suspected narcotics hidden in various locations across the site.
The substances seized included suspected tusi (pink cocaine), cocaine, hashish, cannabis pollen, marijuana, poppers, methamphetamine and several tablets believed to be ecstasy or amphetamines.

No Licences or Safety Documentation
Organisers were asked to provide documentation proving the event had been legally authorised. However, according to the National Police, they were unable to produce any administrative permits, activity licences, insurance policies or mandatory safety plans.
As a result of the irregularities uncovered, officers ordered the immediate closure of the party and suspended the event.
Judicial and administrative proceedings have now been launched to establish the full circumstances surrounding the gathering and determine any legal responsibilities arising from the case.
