A woman has been injured after her car overturned on the GC-200 in Mogán, Gran Canaria, causing heavy traffic delays during this morning’s rush hour (Monday).
The accident happened just before 8.00am near Los Pasitos, on the main road linking Puerto de Mogán with Mogán town.
Initial reports suggest the driver made a sudden manoeuvre to avoid an obstacle in the road, causing the vehicle to overturn onto its side. The exact circumstances remain under investigation.
Firefighters from Puerto Rico freed the woman after she became trapped inside the vehicle. Emergency medical teams treated her at the roadside before taking her to San Roque Meloneras Hospital.
Mogán Local Police managed traffic while emergency crews dealt with the incident. The crash caused serious congestion along the GC-200, and motorists using the route were advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
