Firefighters were called to a series of incidents across Tenerife during a busy night that included a vehicle catching fire on the TF-1 and another car overturning completely on the TF-5.
One of the most notable incidents occurred at approximately 10.40pm when firefighters based at Güímar were called to the TF-1 motorway.
A vehicle had caught fire on the southbound carriageway at Punta Prieta, in the municipality of Güímar.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze, with volunteer firefighters from the municipality also participating in the operation.
No cause for the vehicle fire has been confirmed in the information released about the incident.
It was one of several calls dealt with by Tenerife's emergency services within a relatively short period.
Earlier in the evening, just after 8.30pm, firefighters from the same Güímar station had been sent to a property in El Socorro after a vegetation and stubble fire was reported.
The fire was brought under control with Local Police officers and Protección Civil personnel also assisting.
Meanwhile, firefighters based in Santa Cruz were called to a separate road accident on the TF-5 at approximately 10.00pm.
The accident happened on the carriageway heading towards Santa Cruz at Somosierra, where a vehicle had overturned completely.
Firefighters secured and inspected the area before assisting the security services with the removal of the vehicle and cleaning of the road.
Guardia Civil officers and personnel from the Servicio de Urgencias Canario (SUC) were also present.
The emergency activity continued into the early hours.
At approximately 3.30am, firefighters from Güímar were mobilised again, this time to Calle La Constitución in Arico, where cardboard and rubbish had caught fire.
The four interventions meant crews dealt with incidents in Güímar, Santa Cruz and Arico over the course of the night and early morning.
Two involved Tenerife's main motorways, including the TF-1, the main road connection used every day between the south of the island, Santa Cruz and Tenerife South Airport.
The information released by the emergency services does not state that anyone suffered injuries in any of the four incidents.
It also does not establish the causes of the three fires.
