After years of anticipation, South Tenerife's newest shopping and leisure destination is almost ready to welcome its first visitors.
La Gran Manzana, located in Las Chafiras, has confirmed its opening is just around the corner, with a live countdown on its official website pointing to Thursday 16th July as the big day. The long-awaited development is expected to become one of the largest retail and leisure hubs in the south of the island, offering a new destination for both residents and the millions of tourists who visit Tenerife each year.
According to the official website, La Gran Manzana will feature more than 45 shops, over 10 restaurants and cafés, a modern multi-screen cinema, a large supermarket covering more than 1,200 square metres, and a wide range of leisure facilities, creating a destination where visitors can shop, dine and be entertained all in one place.
Several well-known brands have already confirmed they will be opening at the centre. Fashion and lifestyle retailers include Jack & Jones, Natura, JYSK, Parfois, Encuentro Moda, Milla 88 and Calzados La Horma, alongside beauty and specialist stores such as Arty Belleza, Barbershop International and Stylo.
Food lovers will also have plenty of choice. Confirmed restaurants include popular Indian restaurant Bombay Babu, steakhouse Carnes, and Italian eatery Pasta Mia, with additional restaurants and cafés expected to be announced before the centre officially opens.
Entertainment is set to play a major role in what La Gran Manzana has to offer. As well as a new multi-screen cinema, visitors will be able to enjoy a Grupo Ozone bowling alley, adding another family-friendly attraction to the complex. Fitness enthusiasts will also benefit from a new Fitness Park gym, offering state-of-the-art equipment and training facilities.
Drivers will have access to more than 1,000 parking spaces, including 50 electric vehicle charging points, while the centre will also provide free Wi-Fi, full accessibility, baby changing and nursing facilities, and pet-friendly communal areas.
Families are expected to be among the biggest beneficiaries of the new development. Plans include a supervised children's play area where youngsters can enjoy games and activities while parents browse the shops, enjoy a meal or catch the latest film. Combined with its leisure facilities, restaurants and entertainment, La Gran Manzana aims to become a place where people can spend an entire day rather than simply stopping by to shop.
The project also represents the transformation of a site that stood unfinished for many years into a modern retail and leisure complex. Its location in one of South Tenerife's busiest commercial areas is expected to make it a convenient destination for residents living in Las Chafiras, Golf del Sur, Amarilla Golf, Costa del Silencio, Los Abrigos and El Médano, while also attracting holidaymakers staying in nearby resorts.
