A 26-year-old man has been seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle while on the TF-1 motorway in the south of Tenerife early on Sunday morning.
The Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) received an alert at approximately 7:25am and immediately dispatched emergency and medical teams to the scene.
Serious leg injury
On arrival, paramedics assessed the 26-year-old and found that he had suffered a serious fracture to one of his legs as a result of the collision.
Emergency personnel treated and stabilised him at the scene before transferring him by ambulance to the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital in Santa Cruz, where he was admitted to hospital for specialist treatment.
No further details have yet been released regarding the circumstances of the accident, including why the man was on the motorway when he was runover.
