A 14-year-old boy needed to be taken to hospital after the electric scooter he was riding collided with a car in Costa Adeje, in the south of Tenerife, yesterday afternoon (Sunday).
The accident happened on Avenida de España in Torviscas at approximately 3:20pm, according to reports from CECOES (the Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Centre).
CECOES dispatched the necessary emergency resources to the location given, where paramedics assessed and treated the youngster, who had suffered an injury described as moderate, barring complications.
After receiving initial treatment at the scene, the boy was transferred by ambulance to Hospiten Sur University Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
Adeje Local Police also attended the accident and were responsible for carrying out the relevant enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision.
No further information has been released about his condition since the accident; however, it has been confirmed that he is a resident of the island, and that the scooter is fully registered with the DGT and has insurance with the teenager as the named driver, as required by law.
