TUI has announced an increase in flights to the Canary Islands for summer 2027, adding capacity to Tenerife South airport, and additional services to Gran Canaria and Lanzarote.
The expansion forms part of TUI's newly announced European summer programme, which will offer around 17 million seats across 84,000 flights, representing a 4.6% increase in capacity compared with summer 2026.
Tenerife South will receive increased capacity from the German market, reflecting what TUI describes as strong customer demand for established holiday destinations.
The airline is also increasing services from Belgium to Gran Canaria and Lanzarote, strengthening links between the islands and another important European tourism market.
Across its European network, TUI is introducing 25 new routes and approximately 640,000 additional seats for summer 2027.
The airline says its new strategy allows capacity to be moved more effectively between European markets according to demand, while continuing to support its package holiday operations.
The additional Canary Islands capacity comes as TUI continues to report strong demand for the archipelago. The company said earlier this week that Spain, including the Canary and Balearic Islands, is among its most popular destinations, with the Canaries expected to remain at the heart of its winter 2026/27 programme.
The latest expansion provides another positive indication for the islands' tourism sector ahead of next year's summer season, particularly for Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote.
