A man was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Granadilla de Abona yesterday morning (Wednesday), prompting a major emergency response in the south of Tenerife.
The incident happened on Avenida Fundador Gonzalo González shortly before 9:00am. Emergency services were alerted after reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle and required urgent medical assistance.
The Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Centre dispatched emergency crews to the roadside, where paramedics treated the injured man.
According to emergency services, he suffered multiple serious injuries. After being stabilised, he was taken by advanced life support ambulance to the Hospital Universitario de Canarias in La Laguna.
No further details have been released regarding the man's age or current condition following his admission to hospital.
Local Police officers also attended the area, managing traffic while emergency teams carried out their work and gathering evidence for the official accident report.
