Plans for a new exclusive holiday complex with 14 villas in Costa Teguise have received provisional approval from the Lanzarote Cabildo.
The development is proposed for a 5,396-square-metre plot at number 2 Avenida de Las Palmeras, close to existing holiday accommodation in the resort. It would provide a total of 55 tourist places, along with additional facilities.
The Cabildo approved the project unanimously at its latest meeting, following a favourable assessment from its tourism department.
The Canary Islands Government had already granted prior authorisation for the scheme in April 2025. Such authorisation is required under rules governing new tourist accommodation in Lanzarote.
Further permits still needed
The Cabildo’s decision provides provisional authorisation and classification for the proposed tourist complex. The developer must still obtain any other licences and permits required for the project.
As part of the process, the Cabildo asked Teguise Town Hall in July to report on whether the plans complied with local regulations and planning rules. That report had not been received when the island authority made its decision.
The Cabildo said the procedure could continue because the legal deadline for receiving the report had passed.
No construction start date or opening date has been confirmed as yet.
