A 32-year-old British woman has been injured after falling around seven metres from the terrace of an abandoned property in Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote.
The incident happened just before midnight yesterday (Sunday), in Calle Princesa Guayarmina in the popular tourist resort. Emergency services were called to the building, including the Local Police, the Guardia Civil, Civil Protection and firefighters.
The woman suffered several injuries and was stabilised by paramedics before being moved to an ambulance.
The rescue was complicated by the location of the fall. Emergency crews had to carry her over a wall around two metres high through the terrace of a neighbouring property to reach the ambulance.
She was subsequently taken to Dr José Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife for further treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the fall have not been confirmed.
