A holidaymaker in the south of Tenerife accidentally drove a rental car onto Playa de Troya in Las Americas before becoming stranded in the sand, in a moment that quickly went viral on social media.
The incident was captured on video and shared on Instagram by user @andreykrivashov, showing the confused driver attempting to manoeuvre the vehicle after mistakenly entering the beach area.
The footage shows the car completely stuck in the sand, leaving the driver unable to move the vehicle without assistance.
Several people nearby quickly stepped in to help, pushing the car while the driver attempted to reverse and steer it back towards the promenade.
After several attempts, the group eventually managed to free the vehicle from the sand.

Playa de Troya, located in central Las Americas, is one of the most popular tourist beaches in south Tenerife and is surrounded by hotels, bars and pedestrian areas.
Although no injuries or damage were reported, the incident sparked plenty of amused comments online about holidaymakers struggling to navigate unfamiliar roads in Tenerife.
