The Canary Islands are set for another windy day today, Thursday, with cloudy intervals, rough seas and temperatures reaching up to 30°C in some parts of the archipelago, according to Spain’s State Meteorological Agency, AEMET.
Yellow weather warnings remain active across several islands as strong northeast winds continue to affect the region. Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 30°C in some southern and mid-altitude areas.
Rough Seas and Strong Winds
AEMET forecasts moderate northeast winds across the islands, becoming strong in exposed southeast and western areas, as well as in higher ground where very strong gusts are expected, particularly during the middle of the day.
At sea, northeast to northerly winds of force 5 to 6 are expected, with rough to very rough conditions and Atlantic swell of between one and three metres.
Authorities are advising caution for coastal activities, small boats and drivers travelling through exposed areas.
