A child of around 12 or 13 needed to be taken to hospital after the electric scooter they were riding collided with a car in Costa Adeje, in the south of Tenerife, yesterday afternoon (Sunday).
The accident happened on Avenida de España in Torviscas at approximately 3:20pm, according to reports from CECOES (the Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Centre).
CECOES dispatched the necessary emergency resources to the location given, where paramedics assessed and treated the youngster, who had suffered an injury described as moderate, barring complications.
After receiving initial treatment at the scene, the child was transferred by ambulance to Hospiten Sur University Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
Adeje Local Police also attended the accident and were responsible for carrying out the relevant enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision.
No further information has been released regarding the age or nationality of the child or how the accident occurred.
